Gary and Peter own a beautiful Victorian house in Battersea. After six years at the property, they decided it was time to renovate. The brief was for bespoke, fitted furniture in the lounge, master bedroom and second bedroom. This sounded right up our street.
Peter had a clear vision for this project and a strong input in the design process – I welcome style choices from clients. They were happy for me to make recommendations, and the result was a collaboration of our ideas.
In the lounge we created a made-to-measure display cabinet and bookcase in cool grey, beside the chimney stack. To ensure the lounge was clutter-free, all audio visual devices are stored in cupboards and shelves. Gary and Peter found stylish silver handles for the cupboard doors and glass was used to top the cabinets to compliment the décor for the room. Objects d’art and pictures are displayed on one side of the bookcase, while the other holds the extensive book collection. The bookcase is finished with individual lighting strips on each shelf. It’s all in the detail.
In order to maximize storage space, wall-to-wall wardrobes were fitted in both bedrooms. Gary and Peter chose panelled wardrobe doors, which open to reveal spacious shelves, clothes rails and soft close drawers. Finished in white, the wardrobes perfectly match the minimal and elegant décor.
The bespoke furniture seamlessly integrates with the overall style of this lovely SW11 home. Once the job was complete, our friends at Gertrude & Ivy visited the property to photograph the project, where they were greeted warmly by Pickle, their rescue dog from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
I’m delighted to say Gary and Peter are very happy with our design and installation work for Project Battersea – saying:
Bill’s pride in his work and love of design shone through in this project. He worked closely with Peter on cementing the final design and his professional, hands-on approach and everyday management was reassuring. Bill came and added value to this renovation.Gary
